growth in the Church

C.C.C. is a nondenominational church body
which gathers in the Athens-Etowah
community of Southeast TN.

Originally founded in Cleveland, TN (circa 1986),
the meeting place has moved several
times over the years as the congregational
needs have changed.

We have recently completed the process
of building on our church property on
New Zion Rd.(616), just off of
McMinn County Rd. 750.
Our vision has become reality!

Nigeria Mission

Dr. Linus Ihetuge founder of
“Jesus Brethren Ministries”

Christian Covenant Church supports Dr. Linus Ihetuge, a Nigerian national, in his ministry in Abia State, Nigeria.  We are blessed to receive a visit from Brother Linus about once a year. He always encourages us with a word from the Lord and has often spoken directly to our need, though he had no natural knowledge of it.

Nigeria is suffering from Muslim unrest.  The nation is divided religiously with the Muslims in the north and Christians in the south. Abia State is in the south, and Linus assures us they are safe where they are.  Christians in the north are not so safe.  Recently churches have been locked shut and the worshippers inside were massacred. Some have fled south.  The need for Christian evangelism is desperate. Their hope is for Christian leaders to bring order and Christian morals to their government.  They desire our prayers, and they need our support.

Jesus Brethren Ministries is working to save their nation. They are equipping young men in the Word of God to go into all the country with the Gospel. They are attempting to raise a new generation who will serve God faithfully and wisely. They are encouraging families in their God-ordained duties.  They teach the way of peace.  We are thankful for the opportunity to support such a work.

Brother Linus is a former university professor who is now the Senior Pastor and Overseer of Jesus Brethren Ministries. Jesus Brethren Ministies has many facets of outreach to their local community as well as to their entire nation. Some of the ministries they provide are:

Jesus Brethren Christian Academy – a kindergarten through 12th grade school

Pure Word Bible College – training young ministers to go out into their nation

Aba Worship Center – offering 4 meetings a week for worship, teaching and fellowship

Cumberless Women’s Fellowship – teaching women to serve and follow Jesus and to be gracious

Men’s Life – Men study and learn to apply spiritual truth

Monthly Men’s Breakfast Fellowship for all men, married and single

Park Outreach to care for the poor
